Resolute Systems is pleased to announce that mediator Hon. Richard J. Sankovitz (ret.) will be speaking at the Milwaukee Bar Association Law & Technology Conference on Friday, November 19, 2021. Judge Sankovitz will be presenting on “Virtual Mediation Strategies.”
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, Judge Sankovitz has successfully mediated myriad civil disputes including commercial, tax assessment, IP, insurance coverage, securities and domestic matters on virtual platforms. While Judge Sankovitz is mediating in-person as well as virtually, video mediations (as well as hybrid video/in-person mediations) are now part of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) landscape. Among the topics to be addressed are the strategic advantages and disadvantages of mediating by video, when the parties have a choice; how to make the best impression on the small screen; how to augment your advocacy with screen sharing; how to initiate virtual “hallway” conversations with the mediator or other parties; how to expedite client caucuses in real time; and precautions for protecting the confidentiality of communications.
