Hon. John H. Rouse joins Resolute after serving for ten years as a Suffolk County Court Judge, the last eight of which he served with distinction as an Acting Justice of the New York State Supreme Court where he developed a reputation for settling and trying difficult cases.
During his eight years sitting on the Supreme Court bench, he presided over a variety of cases including medical malpractice, legal malpractice, automobile accidents, slip and fall, negligent supervision, products liability, premises liability, breach of contract, real estate and land disputes, foreclosure, and labor law issues.
Additionally, prior to his service on the bench, Judge Rouse for nine years served as the elected Superintendent of Highways for the Town of Brookhaven, New York. Significantly, during that time he oversaw thousands of roadway and other infrastructure construction and maintenance projects, regularly addressing contractual, labor and municipally related legal issues. He also supervised the work of over 250 union employees, regularly settling labor disputes and serving as Chief Negotiator for the town during contract negotiations.
