Paul has served as an arbitrator, mediator, or lead counsel in more than 175 disputes, with a focus on ADR matters involving commercial, technology, employment, and financial issues, as well as contracts and licensing. He is widely recognized for his expertise in the technology arena—described by Chambers as “renowned for his work in the technology arena”—and has also been recognized for his work across multiple practice areas.

Paul is a member of the Executive Committee of the NYSBA Dispute Resolution Section (DRS) and the founding co-chair of its Technology Committee. He also serves as co-chair of the DRS Programs Committee, coordinating ADR activities, and has been consistently recognized for ADR in Super Lawyers.

In addition to his ADR work, Paul has been a partner at global law firms, serving on management committees and as a practice leader, and he has experience as a member of boards of directors. He has served as a neutral for over three decades. He has also served as counsel in some ADR cases, and has represented both claimants and respondents in complex disputes.

Paul has also been appointed by the Chief Judge of New York State to the Statewide Committee on ADR, and by the Chief Administrative Judge to the Committee on AI and the Courts. Notably, he is the only lawyer appointed by the judiciary to serve on both committees.
