Robert Kalish joins Resolute after serving for fifteen years as a justice of the New York State Supreme Court (2005-2020). Judge Kalish has extensive experience litigating and presiding over a wide array of civil disputes, and has developed a reputation for settling difficult cases.
While a Supreme Court Justice, he presided over a multitude of settlements involving personal injury, medical/dental malpractice, nursing home, labor law, business and real estate matters as well as an extensive variety of tort cases.
Prior to his appointment to the bench, Justice Kalish served in various capacities with the New York Law City Corporation Counsel’s office. He left the Corporation Counsel’s office to work in private practice returning to the Corporation Counsel’s office to serve as the Borough Chief of the Brooklyn Tort Division, a position he held until 2005, when he ascended to the bench.
During his almost 50 year legal career, Justice Kalish has had the opportunity to practice on both sides of the legal aisle, as plaintiff and defense attorney, then on the bench as a jurist. This earned him the unique perspective and insight to all matters before him. His record speaks for itself in the many opinions he has authored over the years.
